I wouldn't be where I am today without the journey I have been on over the past 46 years. I grew up in a sporty vegetarian household, where greens, soy milk, and legumes were the norm. Weekends were always spent outdoors tramping, taking part in fun runs and walks with my family, playing tennis, making huts, skating, biking - you name it. From a young age, I liked to run, and I still remember the day I went to Athletics for the first time at the ripe young age of 6 and I competed in my first ever 50 or 100 metres sprint - I got so excited that I just kept on running around the 400 metre track.
Running has not been easy at times, but I know that without it, my mental health takes a toll and my family have a very grumpy Aimee around them.
Running has taught me about peserverance, inner and physical strength, how to be a happier and more balanced person, and it has shown me that anything is possible. There was a time that I thought I would never be able to run in a half marathon.
I have two running coaches in the past to thank that have also helped me along in my running journey, and other incredible friends I have made through fitness and running. I have learnt from my running, training, and fueling mistakes, but in the process have grown and learnt so much about myself, which has been invaluable.
I am a wife to Mason (also a teacher and soon to be back to running hubby), a mum to our beautiful 15 year old daughter, who is a natural runner and incredible swimmer, mum to three crazy fur babies, Reid, Tilly, and Maisy, that keep us out walking daily. A part time teacher, Sports Science student, a runner, a reader, and a dancer of late - as I am preparing to dance for Life Education in October 2024.
I understand how stressful life is and juggling family and work commitments - when we meet up this will be something we will chat about and how we can make your training work for you and your family.
The ultimate goal is for you to be loving what you are doing and getting the balance right for YOU!
