I am a passionate trail and road runner; finding a love of running from an early age. Running has always been in my life in varying degrees, from running at school cross country each year when I was growing up, and zooming down the running track at Athletics.
I absolutely love the way in which running makes me feel; the endorphin kick in beautiful forest and mountain trails, scenic road runs, and races. Running is my absolute happy place.
I recently had the opportunity to run trails in the South Island which have been on my bucket list for some time. The Kepler, Routeburn, Lake Tekapo, and the Lake Dunstan trails didn’t disappoint; It is when I’m amongst nature like this, that I feel truly alive.
I am a teacher of 25 years, having taught in Primary through to High School; within this time a large component of this time has been spent coordinating, coaching, and facilitating cross country, athletics, and other sporting events; and hockey. Hence, my love of getting youth moving for their health and well-being and working alongside Rod Dixon’s KiDSMARATHON Programme to bring my Central Plateau KiDSMARATHON Programme in 2025 to fruition, which was a great success. Seeing each individual student complete their 42kms or 100kms within this 8-10 week programme was extremely rewarding.
My teaching, running experience and relevant study makes me a very dedicated, knowledgeable coach, who likes to work alongside my athletes’ in a holistic and supportive way that factors in all facets of their life and other commitments.
I would absolutely love to share my knowledge with you, and guide you on your running journey- whether you are a beginner, getting back into running again, have been running for a while, a competitive runner, or if you are wanting support to help you in your chosen sport.
